Boone Comic Con postpones its October 5, 2024 event in the wake of Hurricane Helene

 

BOONE, N.C. September 30, 2024

Adventura Events officially announced the postponement of Boone Comic Con which was scheduled on October 5, 2024.

Denis Lachapelle, chair of Boone Comic Con, stated, “Hurricane Helene had a devastating impact on Boone and most of Western North Carolina. All of us, including our staff and volunteers, artists, guests, and vendors have all been affected. At this time our venue, the Watauga Community Recreation Center is closed.”

Lachapelle continued, “We are working directly with the staff of WCRC to find an alternate date once the facility reopens.

Tickets that were pre-purchased will be honored on the new date once it is announced.

Future updates will be posted to the event’s social media channels and to its website, Boonecon.com

Mr. Lachapelle also expressed his admiration and appreciation to the entire Watauga County community for their time and efforts through the Hurricane Helene crisis.
